On Wednesday, two former Penn State hockey players, Ryan Kirwan and Liam Souliere, found new homes for the 2024-2025 season.

Kirwan, a junior forward, transferred to Arizona State, according to X. He finished his Nittany Lion career with 34 goals and 69 points, including 13 goals and assists this past season.

The 6-foot-2 right-handed winger has been labeled as having “an NHL-caliber shot” by Penn State head coach Guy Gadowsky.

Kirwan follows in the footsteps of another former Nittany Lion, Tyler Gratton, who transferred to the Sun Devils last season and served as team captain, putting up 12 goals and 18 points.

As for Souliere, the senior netminder announced his commitment to Minnesota on Instagram Wednesday afternoon.

The Brampton, Ontario native finished his blue and white career ranked second all-time in Penn State program history in saves (2,067), second in wins (39) and third in shutouts.

Guy Gadowsky’s squad will face the familiar netminder at least four times next year in Big Ten play.
