The long list of Penn State tight ends in the NFL just got longer.

Tight end Theo Johnson was selected by the New York Giants with the No. 107 pick in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

The Windsor, Ontario native appeared in 45 games with the Nittany Lions hauling in 77 passes for 938 yards and 12 touchdowns. Those 12 scores have Johnson ranking third all-time in touchdowns by a Penn State tight end.

Johnson, who ranked as a four-star prospect coming out of Holy Names Catholic, was the blue and white’s third-leading target in 2023 as he racked up 34 receptions for 341 yards and 7 touchdowns. His performance earned him honorable mention All-Big Ten honors by the coaches and media.

The 6-foot-6, 260-pound athlete opened eyes at the 2024 NFL Combine as he ranked in the top five of every test done by tight ends. His 4.19 20-yard shuttle run was first among tight ends while his 4.57 40-yard fash, 39.5 vertical jump and 10-foot-5-inch broad jump all place him second among the group.

Those numbers helped him earn a 9.99, out of 10, relative athletic score (RAS). That 9.99 ranked him as the second-best tight end from 1987 to 2024.

As Johnson heads to the Big Apple, he joins Mike Gesicki, Pat Freiermuth, Brenton Strange and Jesse James as the Penn State tight ends in the NFL.
